Epic Nintendo Hoard

Posted July 11th, 2010 by Christopher in News | Comments Off

Not really my hoard, just aquired by my new best friends, but all equals a whole bunch of work testing the things :( Also, a cool MoH Rising Sun shoulder bag from a store close-down. Already bought half their display stuff, will be back next week for the rest if they’re still there, but this is the best thing they’ve dug out so far. That and the 5 foot resi evil darkside chronicles cutout :)

A quick maths lesson.

05/07/09 + 07/07/10 = 1 year.

£40,878.96 + £25,920.75 = £66,799.71
(That’s Year 1′s turnover from 05/07/09 to April, plus first 3 months of the current year).

VAT Threshhold = £70,000.

Current state of mind = ohshit ohs hit shit what do i do whata do i dooo :|

EDIT: Panic over. Threshold includes only UK sales. Total 12 month turnover of which = £30,000. Never has a kid been so happy to make so little.

Oh come on, guys, seriously, again?!?

Yes, that is another bunch of Mass Effect 2 for the knock down price of Mass Effect 1. Oh boy, someone’s gettin sacked… :p Or they just wanna get rid of those ME2s *real* badly :) Is it that bad a game?

Anti-deals of the day.

GAME Plc’s new Guitar Hero pricing structure – “higher, higher, higher… bit higher… now add some 0′s…”

p-2048-1536-d26527fc-e386-464f-94d1-1509cf742b78.jpeg p-2048-1536-6769b342-8d8c-48f0-bea0-8ea2a37f60f4.jpeg

Bear in mind these are not only games that fetch no more than £6.50 on the open Market, but have been sold on 3 for £10 deals in the same stores for the last year, and not much more than a fiver before that. Truly a WTF?!? moment.

Eventful day.

week year F*CKING MILLENIUM!

Disclaimer: Bragging and fantasizing of worldly riches herein are somewhat overblown (I should make a tenner, probably). I can dream though, and it’s still find of the century. Consequently, strong language ahead.

You know, some days, you’re just lost for words.

Any other day, I’d start off with a brand new, sealed copy of Ulysses 31, and think “wow”. And it’d take price of place for the rest of the week.

Today, I got home having forgotten it was even in my bag. In fact, every damn thing I bought seems to have made me forget the last previous amazement, and I only realised the enormity of the greatness of 19th June 2010 when unpacking a few minutes ago. And I’m currently still in shock. So…

holycow

Where to start. There’s that sealed Ulysses 31 full DVD boxset, my favourite cartoon as a kid, worth silly prices even used. Meh, next.

Hogs Of War, PC game. A cult classic on the PS1, no idea what it does on the PC, but it’s gonna be nothing if not a better game with a mouse and keyboard. No sign of the sequel yet…

Final Fantasy VI – RPGer’s favourite, last seen being harassed by a jiggly puff. The highlight of many a hoarding trip. Not today.

Psychonauts PS2, Silent Hill 1 PS1 (the movie’s great, btw), Earthworm Jim MD cart… run of the mill, really.

Ok, how about those posters? Those things I ask every damn store I go in to for, and everyone’s “sent them back to head office”? Well here’s a few. Just a load of Square Enix stuff, nothing special, like (!). Oh and an Resident Evil 5 card cube display, just incase the posters weren’t enough. Total cost? I think, maybe, about minus £3.00 after some weird discounting from a store that swears they’re not closing down, just getting rid of their entire contents :| .

Nah, who cares about posters. Game Boy Micro? Doesn’t get more than a single line.

Ladies and gentlement, the money shot.

No, really. The “goddamn I’m fucking rich!”$!£”431111Money shot.

The “more expensive than god” money shot.

Yes, Knuckles Chaotix 32x. Hands down the single most expensive game I’ve ever owned. Possibly, outside crazy land of super-rare collectibles, one of the most expensive games you can buy right now. The price I paid? Lets just say, more than the asking price ;) .

Coming to an auction near you soon. Maybe. The posters are going on my wall though, they’re ace. No wait, the GB Micro’s ace. Actually FF VI’s ace. Wait wait… it’s god damn SEALED! Ulysses’s ace! Oh but hogs of war… FECKIN CHAOTIX111 omg *implodes*

More Royal Mail Tips

Posted June 19th, 2010 by Christopher in News | Comments Off

Probably more to come, but here’s a few tips I’ve picked up for use with my new Royal Mail Account (if you send £5,000 of mail a year, get one!).

If you’ve not seen it already, take a look at the previous post on using the OBA for beginners.

For today though, international mail tips, after the jump. And if any of it is wrong, comment! Most of it’s been worked out from a billion different docs from websites of about 10 different mail services from around the world, then clarified by Graham at RM (just ask for him if you need any International based queries answering ;) ).

For background reading, head to the Universal Postal Union’s Letter Post Manual or Packet Post Manual. Frankly useless for UK mail as RM use modified standards, but interesting if you wanna know exactly how radioactive material should be taged and handled when posting :| . For European specifics and more RM orientated stuff (especially how the Petit, Grand & Encomberant standards are dictated) then see the REIMS (Remuneration of International Mails) Agreement text. Probably REIMS III (there seems to be a few revisions, I think this is the latest). And if you actually have a link to the damn thing, let me know, as I searched and searched and came up empty, other than the fact it exists. Somewhere. So here’s the best I can do for now…

eBay Video Game Category Changes

See all that red and blue? Not good. Not good at all… iGPC had a heart attack. Still, half an hour later and all the cats have been updated in it. Except there’s no completed listings in them at the moment. Oh joy…

Conclusion? Ignore iGPC prices for a while, and make do with weird pricing @ iGS until it all blows over.

Boxed Paper Mario N64. The pic was originally taken whilst still on display in a store. Thinking it was one stupidly high price, I was gonna blog about how silly GAME Plc’s now extortinate demands were, and how only an idiot would pay this much…

l-2048-1536-22ef84b7-8f7c-455d-adf5-ae17f96cecc1.jpeg

… except, I then thought “how silly would I feel if I left it there, blogged all ‘crazy price etc etc’, and it turned out it was worth way more”. And guess what? Luckily, I found out what the even-crazier masses are willing to pay within a minute of taking that pic. And it’s now awaiting testing and cleaning. We just pray it’s not one of those 10% faulty items…

But, shhh!, don’t tell anyone. Yet. :)

inaudible Games

www.inaudiblegames.co.uk

You can even, like, buy shit, n stuff. Yeah. Plenty of tweaks to come though. Very, very soft launch for now. The first thing to sell will no doubt break the database. Again. Don’t worry too much though, I made sure the big stuff works. Like, the database… oh yeah… :|

Seriously though, it does work, there is stock, you can buy it (one item at a time like, technical reasons ie. I couldn’t be arsed programming an entire cart system, will do sometime though). If you’re abroad you’ll get a nice e-mail saying “you should have read all the big messages saying you shouldn’t have bought it but I’ll probably send it anyway”. And err… that’s about it. For now. If you get too confused by the ratings… don’t email to ask for an explanation. I don’t even get them. And I bloody designed the things. You just know you’ve fecked up when that happens ;) Now I must away to pack and post more gaming goods. Oh joy.
