The first day of Winter hoarding, and an inevitable drop in quantity, if not quality of the hoard. First thing I found was an N64 for a £5, always worth if for the included Goldeneye. Shame it never made it on to the Wii… Plus, a Namco PS1 wheel controller for £1. Yes kids, this is what we made do with before Analogue was invented.
Then probably find of the month was a stall run by an ex PR girl, and we all love PR girls, expecially when they’re selling their wares…. don’t… PS3 wares. PS3 promotional lanyard, skinny girls T, yoyo, pen, baloons, etc etc to be exact. For £1, they’ll no doubt be shut in a cupboard and make front page news on GameSniped in a decade. Also grabbed all the Ice Age promo stickers and Ts for £1 too. Plus the PS cd case, having turned one down last year in almost exactly the same spot and regretted it.
And then bookshelf fillers - lady asked £5 for the PS1, I only wanted the case (a duplicate of one I got last year, and the best PS case ever made afaic) so offered 2 for that, and she dropped to £4 for the lot. I figured what the hell, it’s not like I don’t already have 10 of the things lying around, what’s one more… And it wasn’t till I get home til I notice it’s an original PS1 with RCA outs, fetching up to £20 on eBay. Thank you Mrs Hardsell. Annndd… the SNES, £5, I saw the console and Mario All Stars in it and din’t bother checking the rest. Turns out it has a weird touch-activated controller with it too. Will see what it’s like later. And now my shelves are full again, so I best be off to sell some more.
