Pedromon XD

You ever get that feeling in shops, when you’re in there every few days and they never have a thing even remotely good, and you know they’re just saving up for the big one? Such was the case with a newly opened charity shop in town, whom since opening a few months back haven’t even sold so much as a DVD video, let alone game. Every week, in I go, knowing it’ll just be more VCRs, yet still I went, waiting, hoping…

hoard250609Pokemon XD Gale Of Darkness. Worth around £20. And there it was. Jackpot :) Well, not quite… it’s the Spanish version. I’m hoping there’s some spanish speaking Pokemon fans out there somewhere though. And as it was so cheap, I felt bad only taking the single game, so packed in Metroid Price Echoes GC, Dynasty Warriors 5 PS2 and my old favourite, F1 97 PS1 – one of the better F1 results from the PS, and I believe based on Damon Hill’s 96 championship winning season. Still for only a quarter of what an english XD’s worth. Woot :)

I also spent the past few days visiting family in the heart of ye olde england, full of anything over the age of 75 and not much else, where like the shop above you’d be lucky if you even found a DVD let alone any games. So my mouth dropped at the sight of Dreamcast related media in a small charity store. Datel’s Xploder cheat disc for Dreamcast may or may not be worth anything, but purely for what must be ultra rarity I had to get it. Yup… quick eBay check shows only a single listing. Anyone else ever seen a Dreamcast cheat disc for sale, outside the 90s?

The usual bundle of PS2 games complete the week’s hoard, plus a funky little solar powered FM radio. I figured it’s summer and it’s hot so there’s gotta be some good comes out of that. Free power never hurt anyone. Free music though… oh geez I’m so going to jail :)

You shouldn’t feel obligated to pick up crap along with the gems, but I’ll make an exception this time since it was a charity shop. Just remember the crap then becomes your personal liability to get rid of.

BTW Jurassic Park is a pretty scarce title here in the States. Gamestop still sells it for $39.99 used, which is extraordinary for a game of its age. There was a popular video on Youtube about all the things that are “wrong” with Gamestop and they point out this game specifically. (Though that particular point was unfair because the game is rare, but should probably be closer to $30 than $40).

JP’s pretty rare here too, just sold one for about $35 :) Got this one in a multi-buy for about that much for four games. And XD, I bought a couple from Gamestation “pre-owned” – I swear they just use that for all the stuff they can’t sell as these were practically new – for $25 each, still made a good profit off that. Actually made around $325 profit this week :d one off I’m sure but… anyway, XD in this store was like $2. I’d probably have handed over $15 if it wasn’t spanish, I mean you wouldn’t find a load of money lying on the floor there and not hand it in? Like that time I found around £60 in the street… I should’ve legged it, eh? :p

Anyway… jackson. Any MJ video games around? Bad time to talk about prices I guess but… up or down? I must go, 70 PS2 games to test, clean, catalogue, weigh, list, photograph, edit…
