Duke Nukem Never Ever…. ever?

dnf1Yep. Sad news today comes in the form of 3D Realms, creators of the Duke Nukem series, who become the latest fatalities of the credit crunch. After 12 years working on Duke Nukem Forever (seriously, I completed FF VII in less time than that…) they’ve been forced to close due to cash flow problems and cease production on the game. Or at least, one would assume so… After 12 years though, who knows? It’s not like they didn’t have any code. versionsWell, at least it’s one more prototype for the game hoarders to search and hope for. Oh what joy.

Speaking of coding, that’s what I what I was doing at 2am last night/morning. Bumped my eBay search/scraper up to v0.6 with some refactoring, so it’s practically ready to have functions bumped out of a prototype page, in to some includes, and the big ole database will finally make sense. Unlike what I just wrote. You wish you spent 3 years coding Java and C/C++ now too don’t ya? No? You could help finish DNF?
